The Journey Back to Graduate: Documentary Screening & Discussion

April 27, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Young people drop out of high school for many reasons and if they decide to return to school to get their GED, the journey back is not always an easy one.

Join YP Impact  at the Ballard Library for a screening of the award-winning documentary Night School.  Daniel Benner, Education and Employment Program Coordinator for the Eastside Reengagement Center at Friends of Youth (YP Impacts featured nonprofit of the quarter) will talk briefly about the work they are doing to help youth graduate. We will then break into groups to dive deeper into topics around graduating high school, going back to get a GED, why young people drop out of school, and more.

We will also be collecting non-perishable snacks for much needed snack kits we will be putting together for youth going through Friends of Youth GED program at the Eastside Reengagement Center.

Bucha Belly will provide Kombucha for attendees. And you can’t have a screening without popcorn!

Following the event there will be an optional happy hour.
