Have you had problems finding face masks at your local grocery store or pharmacy? Would you like to learn how to make reusable masks from the convenience of home while enjoying your favorite brunch food or drink?
Join YP Impact for a live virtual event where we will learn how to make our own face masks, as well as those for the medical community to help stop the spread of COVID-19! There will be options for making a mask with and without a sewing machine.
Acquiring materials for mask making is the responsibility of the participant. We have 3 options we recommend:
Joann: Offer free mask making materials. Materials are prepackaged in kits and can be picked up at your local Joann’s. we recommend calling ahead of time to make sure they have them in stock.
Michael’s: Choose the materials and mask type you want and order for pickup or delivery. They have options for different masks on their website and list the materials you will need to make that mask type
The Mask Pros: Offer prestiched masks. Materials for 3 masks are included in the kit. The kits are shipped from Corvallis, Oregon.
Mask Making Instructions:
Upon registration you will be sent some videos to watch so you have an idea of what is involved and can decide which mask you want to make . Live instruction will also be provided during the event.
All proceeds from this event go to the University of Washington Medicine Emergency Response Fund and the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Keep Workers Healthy & Safe Fund
